questions regarding the various Google tracking scripts

As far as I know, Google provides the following 4 tracking scripts:

 

  1. Google Analytics Universal
  2. Google Analytics Universal with cross domain support
  3. Google Analytics ECommerce
  4. Google AdWords
  5. Google Tag Manager

 

Goal:

We want to take benefit of all features provided, want to be as flexible as possible.

Having this in mind the following questions came up:

 

Questions:

Q1: Which script(s) should we use? Which one is recommended by Google? Which script combination(s) is/are recommended to be used?

 

Q2: The customer already has Google Universal Script setup in his Google Analytics account.

Does the customer need to setup his account prior to use the Google Universal Script with cross domain support, or is no setup needed?

 

Q3: Can Google Universal Script and the Google Universal Script cross domain support co-exist on a customer’s website?

Customer uses Google Universal Script in his website and customer wants to use Google Universal Script cross domain support in his booking engine web application, being launched from this same website.

Possible?

Reason behind this question: customer already uses Google Universal Script, both in his website and in his booing engine. Now we want to rollout a new version of the booking engine with Google Universal Script cross domain support and we do not want every customer to change Google Universal Script for Google Universal Script cross domain support in his website.

Hi Andreas,
many question. Maybe we divide them? I begin with the frist question.
Most felxibel you should use Google Tag Mananger. In GTM you can host the Google Analytics Script. So you use both. if you do E-Commerce you can also activate Enhanced E-Commerce. But you can see this as a modifikation not another script. Same with Cross Domain Tracking.
Google AdWords you could do also via Google Analytics. That means to set up Goals in Analytics and import them to adwords. So you are most flexibel and it is a good case.
